French Kier Days Douglas Breakwater 1980-1982

Late 70s Early 80s French Kier strengthened and extended the Battery Pier with an unusual design of sea defense material known as a Stabit.

The word is also found in the motto on the Manx Coat of Arms, 'Quocunque Jeceris Stabit', which translates literally as 'whithersoever you throw it, it will stand'.

Harry and Liz, now retired, were there to feed the lads.
